The Shipper is responsible for operating loaders and physically working on the ground as a load spotter to provide safety guidance to the others operating loading equipment. In addition the Shipper is responsible for scheduling daily deliveries through the company’s ERP system and coordinates internal/external resources. This role may include either unloading raw materials as they arrive, or selecting proper finished products and quantities from inventory in accordance with packing slips and safely loading each load onto transport flat-decks for delivery to external customers or project worksites. The safe loading/unloading and shipping of all goods and materials is critical to the success of fulfilling customer requirements project installation scheduling.   

 Location: Ponoka, AB.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

  • Operate loading equipment in a safe manner at all times
  • Complete safety assessment forms daily and ensure hazards are addressed
  • Keep storage yard clean and ensure all materials are stored in the proper locations
  • Schedule daily deliveries through company’s ERP system
  • Co-ordinate internal/external resources
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and perform minor repairs
  • Unload flat-decks as per supplier’s picking slip and manifest for incoming deliveries
  • Inspect and verify all incoming raw materials for inventory, recording any shortages and reject damaged goods
  • Stage selected finished goods on the ground and ensure QA kettle tags match part ID numbers
  • Record tracking numbers onto trucking manifest accurately
  • Load transport vehicles as per inventory packing slip and manifest instructions
  • Provide daily inventory cycle counts of finished goods
  • Assist with the coordination of transport logistics information for the arrival/departure at loading facilities


The following are required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid and unrestricted class 5 driver’s license
  • Experience operating a loader to load/unload pipe, equipment and other materials
  • Knowledge of the shipping process (documentation and shipping papers)

  • Safety Tickets (CSTS, First Aid, H2S Alive, OSSA, Ground Disturbance
  • Heavy Equipment Training Certificate
  • Understanding of ISO and quality assurance standards
  • Understanding of Hazard Assessment Analysis
  • Class 1 Drivers license
