POSITION SUMMARY

The Regional Manager, Ontario will be responsible for providing overall leadership, strategy and direction for the execution of helical pile foundation solutions in Ontario resulting in the successful growth of sales and profitability within the region.

The Regional Manager, Ontario is responsible for maintaining a high level of efficiency and effectiveness of all operational activities within the region, including Fabrication, Installation, Supply Chain and Project services.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Operational Leadership:

  • Overall accountability for the regions operational activities, including Sales, Project Services, Installation, Production, and Supply Chain
  • Establish standardized business practices and implement continuous improvement initiatives to elevate the level of performance and profitability of the region
  • Encourage communication between internal groups to facilitate collaboration in the development of the best solutions to exceed customer expectations
  • Accountable to manage multiple change programs within the region sponsored through corporate operations to drive standardization and efficiency
  • Be the driving force in the development of the work ethic, culture and values of the Ontario regional teams
  • Support the recruitment, training and cross training of team members to support regional and corporate growth
  • Champion the safety program in the region, ensuring that HSE rules and procedures are followed by all employees, and that appropriate guidance and training are provided

Business Development and Sales:

  • Spearhead regional sales and business development initiatives that align to the company’s strategic plan, corporate and regional revenue and growth targets
  • Overall Profit & Loss responsibility for the region and must be experienced in balancing revenue growth, costs and expenses to achieve operating profitability, measured against annual business plans, forecasts and general metrics in the industry
  • Identify new applications or markets for helical pile foundations
  • Work closely with the Regional Business Development Manager to define the strategic sales, marketing, and growth objectives for the region and develop actions to achieve these objectives

Corporate Support:

  • Assist the President in regional and sales presentations to the Board of Directors when required
  • Represent Almita in industry associations, including presenting at industry events where applicable to the region
  • Support the development and growth of new services and markets within the region

COMPETENCIES & ATTRIBUTES

  • Fundamental knowledge of OHSA, and the facilitation of a strong safety program
  • Possess detailed knowledge of development, design and construction terminology, delivery methods and processes
  • Thorough understanding of construction and design systems, building types and costs and project delivery models
  • Advanced knowledge of the sales process and have the ability to close and negotiate deals in conjunction with estimating and management of construction projects
  • Proficiency with Sales Force, Target Account selling or similarly structured sales/CRM systems
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with Clients to ensure continual business growth within the company
  • Possess a large number of senior level contacts within the local construction marketplace
  • Active and collaborative leadership style
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, construction management environment
  • Proven ability to manage diverse and challenging projects that range in size from small scale to very large scale

EDUCATION

  • Solid educational background including an undergraduate degree, and an MBA or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE

The following are required:

  • Ten (10)+ years’ of professional experience preferred, with a minimum of five (5) years of senior leadership experience in an operations role within a construction or production company
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Profit & Loss responsibility
  • Experience in Deep Foundation Construction (helical piles, micropiles, driven piles, concrete caissons)
  • Solid record of revenue and profit growth in the construction markets
  • Proven ability to develop/implement strategic growth and profit plans, based on evaluation of market conditions, competitive strengths and weaknesses

The following would be assets:

  • Senior Management experience in a Project environment – bidding, planning, mobilizing and overall leadership
  • Capability to evaluate, estimate, bid and secure complex construction opportunities and commercial projects
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project)
  • Knowledge of and experience working with CRM systems
  • Experience working within a high-growth organization
