The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for all internal and external financial reporting requirements, including all financial statements, budgets and regulatory compliance reporting. The position provides leadership to the financial reporting team and provides training, insights and financial expertise to operational leadership. The role is responsible for effective and efficient processes and plays a key role in the ERP reporting.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversees the delivery of accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting
  • Responsible for all reporting and filing obligations related to bank, board, and lenders
  • Responsible for all reporting and filing obligations regarding income and indirect taxes for Canadian and US operations
  • Responsible for preparing the Operating and Capital expenditure budgets and Forecasts
  • Provides financial statement users with training and assistance to support decision making by the business leaders
  • Leads efforts to improve financial reporting and business processes, through collaboration with all areas of the business
  • Effectively establishes reporting needs, assesses technology options and delivers reporting that supports quality decision making within the business
  • Drives improvements to the ERP and related business processes
  • Liaison with third party regulatory consulting service providers
  • Provides strong leadership to the financial reporting team, building technical and professional skills within the Almita finance team

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

The following are required:

  • 4 year university degree in Business/Finance or related field
  • CPA designation required; legacy CA designation preferred
  • Experience in the assessment of internal control and process will be critical

  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external relationships
  • Experience leading a finance team
  • Experience with international operations
  • Construction or industrial manufacturing experience considered an asset but not required
  • Exceptional communication skills will be a requirement of this role
  • Proven experience working closely with IT on development of systems, ERP enhancements, etc
