The IT Systems Specialist oversees the design, implementation and maintenance of computerized and web-based information systems and supports the company’s corporate strategy. This role performs investigation of information systems requirements, performs evaluation of computer systems and equipment, completes analysis and acts to resolve issues faced by internal users, and develops testing procedures for new systems. This position is also responsible for coordinating the use of systems by all business areas.    

 

Key Accountabilities  

  • Act as a liaison between the business units and the IT team
  • Assists the Director, IT with alignment of the company’s business needs and technical direction
  • Plan, document and implement modifications to core network topology
  • Implement system improvements in alignment with the IT Strategy
  • Implements and monitors network security
  • Administers the company’s LAN/WAN
  • Office 365 Administration
  • ERP Knowledge and troubleshooting
  • SQL server maintenance, troubleshooting and scripting
  • Troubleshooting, system backups, archiving and disaster recovery
  • Microsoft Teams administration 
  • Power BI reporting ability
  • SharePoint adminstration/implementation 
  • Provides training and guidance to the IT Support Technician role
  • Fulfills all duties of IT Support Technician when required
  • Ensures company assets are responsibly maintained
  • Works with project teams to implement internal systems
  • Provides after-hours support in an on-call rotation when required    

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

The following are required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3-5 years of relevant IT experience

The following would be an asset:

  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Computer Studies or equivalent 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and construction environments and processes
